The ALI way is a “third way” in two respects:

• It proceeds between improvised and formalized solution development.
• It proceeds between proprietary and free software development.

Its starting point was long-lasting frustration about tools available for small and medium businesses to deal with work organization issues. Today we are proud, that we can offer an alternative to overpriced or unreliable products in this domain.

The ALI system has a high technical quality and is based on a business model that allow you to utilize the potential of web and workflow management without danger.

A description of our original motivation and basic ideas on nine pages and with a number of illustrations is available for download. It explains ALI's roots in historic software development methodologies, compares it to other technology for pragmatic workflow management, and briefly summarizes its features and business model.

During the original development of the ALI system three white papers were published. They document basic aspects of the ALI way: The partnership articles of the ALI VEB corporation, the concept of developing and operating ALI applications and the initial ideas.
