The ALI system was developed from 2005 until 2010. Based on experiences with reference projects the backend was refactored from April to December 2010. At the same time, the license agreement was simplified. It now provides licensees with more options to take part in amending the product.

Since September 2008 ongoing maintenance and amendments of the ALI system are funded from license revenues only. The extent and ambition of amendments is defined by their volume.

Qualified contributions to amend and market the product are welcome. If the contributor wishes, they are compensated by shares of the ALI VEB corporation. Information about the current status of all shares is available to qualified individuals at any time.
